Offers travel through both space and time to destinations such as Elizabeth Bishop’s Key West, Georgia O’Keefe’s New Mexico and Naguib Mahfouz’s Cairo, with a balance of in-depth discussion of readings, guided walks to the cultural and natural history of places, informal talks about the context of inquiry, generous free time and exceedingly convivial company. And "the flexibility to take advantage of unexpected serendipity. With Travel Pursuits you will not compromise the spontaneity, flexibility and sense of personal discovery you see in your own private travels – only the logistical hassles."

Groups are small and intimate. They include singles, couples and groups of friends and family members. Many are repeat travellers. Moderate walking is required unless otherwise stated. Trips generally include characteristic, comfortable and well-located accommodation, two meals a day, ground transportation, admissions, excursions, guided walks, expert talks and gratuities.

In response to traveller preference, trips offer ground arrangements only. Many wish to arrive early or extend their stays or use their airline points to travel.  Book(s) for discussion are sent upon registration and, closer to the departure, you recieve a wide-ranging booklet that includes the detailed itinerary, destination tips, plus lots of fascinating background reading.
